What is an abortion doula?

As an abortion doula, I am trained to understand the various methods and options for accessing abortion. While I am not a healthcare provider and cannot offer medical advice, I can guide you to reliable resources and accurate information. From there, you’ll be able to make the best decision for your body and life.

Abortion doulas can make this experience less confusing and more comfortable. We can explore ways to make the before, during, and after process safe and effective.

Each person’s circumstances and needs vary greatly. Some possibilities for support are:

Practical support: information and resource sharing, child care, accompaniment to/from clinics, meal prep
Emotional support: hand holding, nonjudgmental listening, texting/phone calls, emotional integration, nervous system regulation practices
Physical support: a place to rest and recover, guidance in gentle yoga practices, herbal/nourishment support

This support can be accessed in New York City or remotely. I work with folks seeking abortions and experiencing miscarriages of all genders and sexualities.

If you are in need of abortion support, please contact me here. When sending a message, you do not need to include the word “abortion.” Simply say you are “seeking support.” Once we establish contact, we will move to a secure messaging platform. Support is available at no cost or through a sliding scale, depending on your needs.
