For queer folks who have experienced trauma, our inner world can be an intimidating place to explore. Many of us keep our bodily and emotional experiences at arm's length. Slowing down and listening to our bodies is a practice of resistance in a world asking us to ignore our needs and stay small. Pranayama practices teach us to tune into the flow of our own energy, and to gently manage that energy through breath, meditation, and more. As we build healthy nervous systems, we’ll find more capacity to be with our full range of our experiences.

This series will be rooted in gentle asana, pranayama and meditation. We’ll start by learning how breath works, and how it can help us interpret our inner life. Slow and steady movement will invite us to find moments of “okayness” or pleasure in our physical bodies. Journaling will invite us to integrate these practices into our daily lives.

Through this collective practice, we aim to more fully understand what our queer bodies need, and how to care for them with compassion. These practices can be beneficial to folks living with chronic illness or other health challenges, as we learn to approach pain and discomfort through a lens of patience and respect.

This series will be recorded with the spotlight on Sasha. If you cannot attend live, the recording will be sent to you after each class. You will have access to all the recordings for 30 days.

This series is for anyone in the LGBTQIA+ community.
