Rainbow Readers

Sundays from 7:00-8:00 pm ET

February 11-March 3 (4 meetings)

By Donation (Suggested Donation $20-60)

Embark on a journey from the comfort of your own couch! Over four weeks, immerse yourself in the pages of a steamy queer romance novel, Delilah Green Doesn’t Care. We’ll explore not only the intricacies of the story, but also delve into personal reflections on queer love and relationships. This space is crafted for bookworms within the LGBTQ+ community to connect, share, and find resonance through queer storytelling.

What to Expect:

💬 Vibrant Discussions: Each week, we’ll come to book club having read a certain number of chapters. We’ll share favorite moments, ponder challenging themes, and reflect on how these characters resonate with us (or don’t!)

📝 Integrating Journaling and Reflection: Beyond the book pages, we'll engage in the art of journaling. The power of storytelling extends beyond the books, and our journals become a canvas for self-discovery.

🤝 Join a Supportive (and Nerdy) Community: Connect with fellow readers who share a passion for queer literature. Engage in conversations that go beyond the pages and create lasting connections.

As we cozy up during the winter season, this virtual book club also serves as a beacon for staying connected during times when social interactions may wane. Winter can sometimes cast a quiet spell, and it can be helpful to build in times of community connection. Grab your favorite cup o’tea, blanket, and bookmark! It’s time to get cozy with the be queer now community.

Notes: Please aquire your copy of Delilah Green Doesn’t Care before our first meeting! You can use your local library, or purchase it through ThriftBooks or your local bookstore. (A new copy is about $17.)

Meet Your Guides:

Alishiya Kapoor (She/They) is a Dominican and Indian American queer human. Alishiya values moving with the seasons, being in community and coming back to the self. These values show up in their yoga practice and teachings. She dreams of creating spaces that allow others to just be, slow down, and reimagine our worlds.

Sasha Sigel (she/her) is a white, queer, cis woman. She honors yoga as a pathway to self healing + liberation, as well as collective transformation. She invites a deeper relationship to ourselves, communities, and the world through this practice. Sasha celebrates exploration and personalization of the practice, and honors the student as the expert on their own body. She trained in yoga for trauma with The Trauma Center at JRI’s Trauma Sensitive Yoga program, and continues to learn through organizations like Accessible Yoga. Learn more at sashasigel.com
