Many of us are feeling the pain of the world deeply. We all have strategies for coping with the ongoing genocides around us– we may fall into distress, overwhelm, or numbness. How can we find meaning and joy in our daily lives, while struggling for collective liberation? In this series, we embark on a journey to cultivate existential hope amidst the backdrop of global violence.

Join the be queer now community as we explore how to…

  • Feel and tend to the rage and grief held in our bodies. Sense how these internal experiences can transform with intentional ritual.

  • Reconnect to glimmers of “okayness,” hope and sustenance through movement and breath.

  • Explore ways to tap into individual and collective strength through meditation and mudra.

We’ll weave together the wisdom of transformative thinkers such as adrienne maree brown, Leah Lakshmi Piepzna-Samarasinha, and Lama Rod Owens. There will be time for journaling and sharing within the group. Through the practices of asana, pranayama, and meditation, we’ll open our hearts to the world again.

Our work is in solidarity with those fighting for liberation in Palestine, the Congo, Iran, and beyond. Together, we’ll create pathways to a future grounded in deep love for humanity and the earth.

This series is open to anyone in the LGBTQIA+ community. Folks new to yoga are most welcome. This will be a trauma informed space, and we will practice collective agreements. You may join the class live, or practice via recordings sent to you after each class. The spotlight will be on Sasha, with no one else’s video/audio recorded. You will have access to the recordings for 30 days after the series ends.
